listening to FAREED ZAKARI on CNN on the subject of the 'second machine age'...in summary he says the 1st machine age during the INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION was all about enhancing human production. The human was in control and it did not so much take away jobs but as it saved lives. Before the industrial revolution, working conditions were horrible and people died in mines, meat factories, fields and in all aspects of industry. Now with the 2nd machine age we deal with the creation of the robot and the computer to the extent where human control is not need and it depletes and deletes jobs. BOTTOMLINE yall we gonna be fighting against a darn ROBOT that don't even need to take home a paycheck to feed its family in order for us to make a living. Ten years ago, I worked at the IRS now a company that had been in existence almost since we had an economy has downsized to the point that major IRS workplaces have closed like the one on Roosevelt Blvd in Philadelphia due to the computer doing the work and online filings. Car manufacturers are having the majority of their work that used to be done on assembly lines by ROBOTS whats your opinion about this ...I see a big problem for our next generation and the present generation...we have increased the number of people getting an education...we are now back to having more babies and the cost to live has increased tremendously....so with more and more jobs being extinct, we are headed for trouble. Now in the areas of building robots, perhaps there are jobs or computer technology and mental health, because people gonna be going crazy if they can't afford to feed their family. unemployment affects every industry....if PEOPLE can't find jobs, they can't buy clothers, food, houses, cars and recreational spending is just unheard of. |
